Just in time for your Christmas credit-card spending spree, Hip-O Records, a quaint little subsidiary of Universal Music Group, has announced a new Elvis Costello release, "The Return of the Spectacular Spinning Songbook". Out December 6th in America, the release is a box set chronicling the recent series of shows Costello undertook with his new backing band, The Imposters. Sounds great, you say? Here's the rub: the box set, which contains a single CD, a 10 inch record, one DVD and a little booklet will set you back over 200 bucks.
